Meet the Artist - Janet Sippola
It was inevitable, that the ranching way of life with
horses, cowboys and cows would be the motivation
that fueled her passion to draw and paint throughout
her life to present time.
Janet was raised on a farm/ranch in the foothills of
Alberta just south west of High River where her father
taught her how to ride, rope, drive a tractor and more
importantly how to draw a horse. As a budding artist,
Janet experimented with a variety of mediums . . . one
of which was her sister's eyeliner pencil, not such a wise
choice when caught red handed! She created her first
original oil painting using her mother's collection of
household paints.
To this day her favorite medium is
still oil, just a little higher quality. It doesn't seem to
matter what one creates through a painting or drawing,
if it comes from the heart it will be filled with emotion,
rewarding the artist, and enjoyed by the viewer.
